Nia Nielsen, Programming Vice President

Nia Nielsen works as a Marketing Specialist for the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation. She focuses on web development and content management, as well as, takes on vendor relations and special projects as needed.
Nia graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelors Degree from the College of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2004. Soon after Nia began volunteering at the Sheldon Art Museum and, as luck would have it, was offered the position of Interim Director of Marketing and Public Relations. It was while working in this capacity she fell in love the world of non-profit marketing.
Nia has also worked in marketing and communication roles with Gotcha Covered/Fowler Custom Homes and CEDARS, one of Nebraska's largest child caring organizations focused on helping kids in crisis and fostering strong families.
As a non-profit marketer Nia considers herself well-rounded by necessity. From graphic design to copy writing she does it all, but finds web development and technology one of the most exciting aspects of marketing because of its “sheer potential”.
Nia currently serves on the board of the American Marketing Association (AMA) – Lincoln Chapter as Programming Chair and is a UNL Public Relations Mentor. When not working and volunteering, you can find Nia at home with her husband, Luke, and daughters, Neve and Bella.
