UNL AMA Mentorship Program

Throughout the Year
Description: Once again the professional chapter will be helping the UNL student AMA chapter with the mentor program and we need your help. The mentorship program takes little time and gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a student. Here’s all that you will do:

- Attend a “Meet the Mentors” event at an upcoming UNL chapter meeting held on Wednesdays at 7. Date TBA. (If you can’t attend for some reason, you can still be a mentor.)

- It’s between you and your mentor to determine how often you will meet and what you will do through the course of the school year but at the minimum you should invite them to your office for a tour, take them to a professional lunch and meet one other time each semester.

- Through this program students are given the chance to be paired with a mentor who they communicate with independently. Once you sign on as a mentor, it’s up to the student to initiate the relationship.

The goals of the mentorship program are to give college students the chance to speak with a local professional who has experience in their desired field to gain advice, guidance and networking capabilities. This is a great opportunity for students to become more involved outside of the classroom and to gain networking experience in the professional community.

I hope that you’re able to give just a few hours of your time to give this opportunity to a future marketer. Please try to commit by October 4. We need about 20 mentors. If you can help or have any questions please contact Randy Hawthorne randy.hawthorne@firespring.com.
